Kelly Thiebaud Exits General Hospital In Emotional Scenes & Shares Goodbye Message! Ron Carlivati & Jason Thompson Tweet Sentiments Too!

Courtesy/Twitter

The Britch has left the building! Actually, via the Port Charles pier!  Today’s episode of General Hospital looks to be the last one for now for Kelly Thiebaud, who won fans and critics alike over with her multi-dimensional performance as Dr. Britt Westbourne!

Originally coming on GH to truly stir up a trouble in the romance department and more for Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), Thiebaud’ s Britt was truly a bad girl, a very bad girl,  only she ended up humanized along the way.  And in her second chance on love with Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher), her deceptions caught up with her one final time as Nikolas kicked her to the curb.

With nowhere left to go, Britt was now heading out of town with her mother Liesl (Kathleen Gati)!  Only on today’s airshow, things didn’t go exactly as planned.  We will not get into the minutia of the final scenes to let everyone get caught up, but to suffice to say, they were emotional and you needed the hankies! Beautiful played by Thiebaud, Gati, and Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer Cassadine).

Kelly posted a very special message on Instagram today: “Hey you beautiful, awesome people! It’s been so hard reading your tweets about me leaving the show and not being able to respond. I wanted to wait till my last episode aired to say my goodbyes.  And here we are … What a fun and challenging adventure it has been.  It went by too fast.  I decided not to resign my contract because I would like to book other roles on prime time shows and film.  You have to follow your dreams right! Thank you for all the love and support.  I hope you will continue to follow me onto the next adventure.  I love you all – Britch!”

On Twitter, GH head writer Ron Carlivati gave Kelly a wonderful acknowledgement relating:  “We are going to miss the Britch but we are going to miss @kellythiebaud even more! Best of luck with your next chapter, Kelly! xoxo Ron

Jason Thompson who Kelly shared so many scenes with at the beginning of her GH run tweeted: “Proud of @kellythiebaudand what she accomplished with her time on GH. You will be missed.”

So, what are your thoughts on the exit of Kelly Thiebaud? Let us know what you thought of her scenes on today’s airshow!  Comment below as we say farewell for now to this talented gal!

I am not the biggest Britt fan due to the writing of the character, but her scenes today with little Spencer broke my heart. I could honestly tell a difference in her acting. She was truly devastated about leaving, but i’m happy for her and hope she makes it in primetime or film. If not, i’m sure Port Charles would love to have the Britch return and cause mayhem.

Oh, and I hope this doesn’t that Nick and Liz are reuniting. Oh for the love of all things holy. Please stop the madness with these two.

Sadly, I do not think the powers that be have enough vested in the Elizabeth character to give her anything meaningful story wise. 🙁

Otherwise, we should have had a chance to explore the Elizabeth and Jason story years ago. As much chemistry and Rebecca Herbst and Billy Miller are showing, I think we are going to get the rug pulled out from under us on this one too.

I agree, her best scenes on the show was the one where she said goodbye to Spencer.

That would be “reined”……

Nicholas :

headed right back to Liz’ house… the minute he AGAIN called if off… twice now, with Britta

Liz isn’t going to take him back….

I bet Tyler, himself, did not like playing this out as well

@Timmmm : the guru, himself, bestowed and laurels your repartee. YES!

fantastic…hitting on all cylinders! she wasn’t a favorite 0 mine when she started out but she morphed the character into something fantastic! I now await her scenes…this mother/daughter duo needs to reconnect at a later date 😉
all the best, Kelly!

Kelly’s scenes today with Kathleen and Nicolas were exquisite. Heartbreaking, and yes, I needed the tissues.

I agree. Not in a million years would I have thought that the scene at the pier would bring me to tears….and, from the supposedly most cold-hearted characters on GH !! I was so moved…wonder of wonders. It was such a tender moment shared between Britt and her mother and Faison. I actually FELT real love. Wow, these characters truly outdid themselves.
The sincere affection between Kelly and little Nicolas tore at my heartstrings…..I wear my heart on my sleeve, so I can relate. The moment was palpable.
Even more of a shocker was Helena’s simple gesture of comfort as she hugged Liesl’s shoulders. We were treated to a glimpse of human emotion by a hard, callous old woman, as is her image….I’m sure she’s a nice lady in reality. And, it was evident Helena loves her great-grandson.
How stoic was Liesl? Here is her opportunity to finally leave with the one man who rocks her world, but, her maternal feelings took over. She sacrificed her happiness for the love of her son. I was floored…that’s a mother’s love….no other kind of love even comes close. Liesl has proven herself, at least to me, in a way which I did not expect.

I hope this is not the end of Kelly/Britt. It would be a real shame not to see her pretty and talented self
again. Nonetheless, no matter her career choices, I do wish her the best in all her endevours.

I would also like to add that Helena’s remark, “….Over my dead body…” cracked me up. Cute, writers….how a’ propos.

Nicely said CeeCee…those scenes at the pier were GH at its finest…we need more of that…ill miss Kelly/Britt…if thats her recast coming i hope its just a temp and Kelly returns but if not i wish Kelly the best!!!

I’ve been a Britt fan from Day One….with her beguiling beauty and devilish, devious demeanor, KT was the perfect soap vixen. I shall greatly miss her crafty contributions to the GH canvas….particularly those hatched with her BFF Brad and of course, maniacal mother, the “Magnificent Mutter.” I was at least gratified (and enormously relieved….) that Liesl Obrecht shall live another day in Port Charles to further wreak havoc and wax maternal with Nathan….I could not have borne the thought of KG’s departure, too! Having said that, the “Family Faison” were truly touching and heartwarmingly human as they bade their auf wiedersehens…what a marvelous moment!!! While I sincerely wish KT the best of luck in her future career path, I shall always hope for at least a return visit from “The Britch.” ( But no recasts, please! Kelly as “Britta” will always and forever be the quintessential chip off the old Westbourne…..)

Kelly was great and that little Spencer dude is going to be a mover and a groover when he gets older! One thing that was odd was Britt leaving with the man she despised, Faison. But, I guess she felt it was her only chance to avoid jail time for her crimes against Nick?

When Nicolas said he was going to bring her up on charges I sort of understood it and wasn’t so taken aback. Upon reflection…it was a bit much. The man supposedly loved her enough to marry her and be a mom to Spencer…he knows Spencer loves her…and he knows she would never harm him…willfully. And…he never really heard how she kept tabs on him. If I remember correctly he did tell her he was hiding out at Carly’s…though not at first…and THAT’s when she should have been mature enough to admit her scheme and find him. But it should have been enough to break up with her and specifically…keep her away from Spencer if he felt her to be a bad influence. As for Kelly’s exit…she could have left the scene due to her heartbreak…that would have been plausible…unless they want to pit Helena against her IF she ever returns for endangering her grandson…

I type so fast and multi-task that I don’t catch my own grammatical mistakes, typos, etc. Frustrating! I’ll let you, dear reader, fix them for me in your head. 🙂

So i guess the person who said Kelly Frye was the new Britt could be right after all…sigh!!!

I thought the role was “IVY” …a new character? wonder whatever happened to the character that was supposed to be Sean and Tiffanys daughter?

We really dont know…she still could be their daughter or a whole new character but im still hoping she is Scotts daughter Serena!!!

She did a fantastic job in her portrayal of Britt. We hated her from day one and we were supposed to. But then…they showed us her human side and her friendship with Brad and Spencer…and damn it! – I started to not hate her so much. I enjoyed the ride and wish you the best luck in whatever role you take on next. Maybe we will see the Britch again one day.

I haven’t seen it yet, but I HAVE to say, that this actress and her portrayal of Britta won me over … big time!

I COULD NOT STAND Britt when she was coming onto Patrick and being a thorn in Elizabeth’s side, but they found the right scene partner for her in Tyler Christopher. I loved watching Britt find someone who loved her.

I also LOVED her friendship with Brad. That is another character and actor that won me over and, I did not think it was possible. I kept their scenes from the Nurses’ Ball on my Tivo for the longest time because he was a really good singer and they looked like they had so much fun together.

As much as I have my gripes about the storytelling and where this has led the characters new and old, THIS is why I watch soap operas and dramas to begin with. I adore CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. If you are going to bring someone on who is just eye candy, but not let them grow as an actor, don’t even bother putting them on my screen because you will not get my attention. This is why I watch scripted drama in the form of network and cable instead of vapid reality shows. I sincerely APPRECIATE great acting and character development, so thank you for getting THIS ONE right. I am just so sad that she is leaving because she worked so well with Tyler Christopher. However, I do wish her much success in pilot season because she won this girl over. 🙂

Pretty much everything I wanted to say. They seemed to be bringing crazy doctor after crazy doctor in to seduce Patrick. I couldn’t stand “The Britch” in the beginning, but when she found real love with Nikolas, I started to love her. I love Kelly and hope she either comes back to GH sometime in the future or that we see a lot of her elsewhere.

I haven’t seen it either… but had to get in my fan salute

oh….. double oh and sigh

I have to concur with Jake NJ below…. nice accolade !

she met herself a man! a life partner…. i’m happy for her

she triggered from the very start… on so many levels… that’s says alot for a new character to resonate and mix throughout Port Charles

Take care Kelly Thiebaud

i’m going to miss her mother/daughter relationship… that still has so many roads to traverse

I’m going to miss her friendship with Brad at the hospital…. a real tried and true BFF that developed a sweet twosome emote

I’m going to miss her with the two Cassidine men… it was Britta who made them

I’m going to miss the two cousins: Nina and Britta with Nathan

I’m going to miss her scenes with Elizabeth

repeating myself… but you can clearly see… where she had so many avenues to reel

this includes scenes with Patrick, Sabrina, and Felix

she… like Kelly Sullivan…. the biggest get… in newbie land…

nice work

Kelly will be dearly missed. she’s very talented and I know she’ll go very far best of luck to you Kelly

Her final scenes were awesome today–she and Spencer=amazeballs.

Britt was a well developed character and Kelly played her with such finesse. She also fell in love with Bryan. I sure hope the new actress is not a Britt recast. I hope they are just resting her character.

I hated Britt when she first came to town, and then I kind of started to like her, but then the whole embryo stealing and assisted runaway thing happened and I lost all respect for Britt again. Kelly Thiebaud is a fine actress, and I think she portrayed Britt well, but I couldn’t stand the character. I’m happy she’s gone and I don’t wish for her to return any time soon.

And, since she just exited, I doubt Kelly Frye is a recast Britt. Hopefully she will turn out to be Sarah Webber or Anna Donnelly, but other than that, I have no guesses.

GH needs to trim its cast as of right now, and Britt was a start. The next two that need to go are Carlos and Sabrina; now that he’s out of jail they can ride off into the sunset of Puerto Rico together.

GH production, should do any thing they can to hold on to the character of Carlos.

the actor, Jeffrey Vincent Parise: he is such a natural on screen with thee “whole” cast… and shines right along with

“Newbie” Salute :

Britta
Carlos
Brad

i’m sure there are more… but… these three I cheer all the way… in however, GH… features

they are not big names… but they certainly have figured BIG in Port Charles

I Love them

back to Carlos : what if he stays on in Port Charles … as a love interest for Rosalie… another newbie who shines

Ooh! that would be an interesting pairing, Patrick! Rosalie and Carlos! (unless she turns out to be his sister! lol.) By the way, I’ve mentioned this before but I think the actress resembles Katherine Heigl…(Gray’s Anatomy, State of Affairs)…do you know of her? Very similar face…

Rosalie is tied to a main character. Maybe shes a Zacharro?

Hmmmmm…dunno, Timmm. I just wonder IF she’s related to a mob family why she seemed so freaked out by Michael’s violence and then Sonny and his guards…as if this was something that’s never been a part of her world…Interesting to see how it plays out…..

I was not a fan in the beginning but she won me over and at times I was rooting for her. Today she really turned a corner. Her scenes with “Spencer” were very heartfelt, you could see the pain in her eyes and huge tears rolling down her cheeks. Maybe someday she will be back, but today was quite a performance and maybe not really a performance after all.

I will miss Britt & KT. I wish her all the best. She is lovely and very talented.

I liked The Britch …
Britt was rather bland..
Britt and Nikolas were a snore..
I wish they would have never put out the fire of The Britch ..
but-
Kelly is beautiful and a great actress..
I am sure she will find her acting happiness and a great career outside of GH..
We will be seeing Kelly 🙂

((I had a chuckle seeing Kelly signed her message
” I love you all – Britch!”

Awesome stuff, su0000! Agreed!

I wish her mother had gone instead. Or, too.
Kelly just might make it in prime time. She’s good.

Yes. Several former & current soap stars are doing primetime now. Soap actors used to be kind of the black sheep of the acting world. but not much now. These days there are so many more options & more television shows.

Billy Miller is doing a lot of primetime now-next up is Suits
Parry Shen (Brad) recently did NCIS: Los Angeles
Nathan Parsons (Ethan) has recurring or regular roles True Blood and The Originals!
Jonathan Jackson (Lucky) is a regular on Nashville

There’s no reason Kelly can’t succeed as well! She is stunningly beautiful and a solid actor.

I loved that she posted a message to her fans and straight-up told them she wants to do primetime. Many actors don’t initially say why they are leaving.

Today’s scenes were tear-jerkers. I just kept thinking now here’s 3 characters I have never particularly cared for, tearing it up today on pier 4! And they all were fabulously dressed in their winter coats!

My favorite character on the show from her beginning. I loved the way she stirred up trouble, and also when she joined the Cassadine clan. I’m hoping for a re-cast, cause GH needs the Britch.

I love Kelly to bits…though, I too, hope for a re-cast in a few months time.
You’re right, GH needs the Britch as does Brad.

I cried today when her and Spencer said good-bye. I am going to miss her. She was beautiful and a great actress.

I will miss Kelly.. she kept things interesting. I cried right along with her and Spencer.. what a tear jerking scene. .Kelly. you are a wonderful actress. Good luck in your future roles… hope to see you back some time. .. will be watching for you. ..

U are gonna be missed. Hope u come back soon.

Great character, great Actress, sad to see both leave.

For all the people who keep saying the cast has to be pared down…it’s dwindling way too fast! Spinelli, Connie, Steven Weber, Lucky, Robin, Scorpio, AJ, Epiphany, now Britt. Hate it. It’s very rare don’t like a character…and when entering this fictional world it’s nice to know they’re all “there” somewhere…lol…where’s everybody going!!!!

So sorry to see Kelly go. Loved her with Nicolas, Brad, Spencer, Dr. O…would have liked to see her bond with Nathan and then Maxi…she played Britt so sincerely. Gorgeous, successful doctor who really just wanted to be loved…

Well sadly, rebecca1, we are not losing just quantity but quality, as well!!!! Those of us who have long been begging for a reduction in the bloated cast list were really quite specific as to whom we felt needed to go, and those that you mention were certainly not the primary names heard over and over again. At the risk of being redundant, I repeat that Felix, Jordan, TJ, Carlos, Grossalie, and yes, particularly, Sappy…..need to go, STAT! (I am especially waiting with bated breath for that last one….please Santa, please????) I would also be overjoyed never to see the likes of Phyllina Cray-Clay again, and it would certainly not go amiss to dismiss Blow-Up Bobbie, Scotty, Lucy or Felicia with the already recurring Mac….point being we need some of the real oldies but goodies like Scorpio, Frisco, Noah, Ethan, Lucky, Laura and assorted Cassadines and Quartermaines to return so we needn’t be forced to rely upon that current second-string of remnants to remind us of GH’s golden days.

Well Shay…I never think there’s a “we” or an “us” when talking about personal preference. There have been those who want Todd, Kiki and Silas to go. Nina to go. Emma and Spencer to be replaced. Felix. Now…to use your terms…there are those of “us” who like all those characters and would hope that they stay.

I, and probably many, still like having Bobbie, Scotty and Lucy around. Actually, I’d particularly love to see more of Scott and Lucy. Always found those two characters amusing and endearing. My point was that the cast seems to be ever-changing and we’re losing a lot of beloved characters…all those I cited.

Where we do agree is in those you’d like to see return. Love em all…but I’d like to see them in “addition to” not instead of…the others.

Are there characters I’m not attached to and can take or leave? Yes…but, lol, can’t think on one!

Carlos and Sabrina will most likely leave town together…first i think Carlos will have his revenge…he’ll find Ava and turn her in to the law…just what i think might happen!!!

I mentioned this to you (I think it was to you, jimh) that I thought Carlos remain in town and go up against Duke’s new “family.” Not sure how the whole mob thing is going to play out if both Julian, Sonny and Ava are in jail. The new players…Duke and Carlos???

rebecca1….When I used the collective “we” and “us” I was not referring to our personal preferences, per se, but those stated from across 2013/14 MFSoaps GH threads. Particularly throughout the earlier part of this year, there were regular calls from many different posters to pare down the Port Charles population, and the names most mentioned were those that I listed. I do concur with you that the “Llanview Three” also have had more than their share of slams from discontented viewers, although I have never taken as much issue with them as others have. I sort of accepted that situation from the start, for better or worse….my real problem came with the barrage of insipid newbies that followed. From my perspective, the only positive immediate additions to the show from the entire lot of fresh faces introduced in the past few years have been those of Britt, Dr. O. and Madeline, then later Brad and Nathan when their true worth and value became more apparent. But for me, that’s it…..there has been way too much deadweight (i.e., unnecessary characters) forced upon us since shortly before the 50th anniversary hullabaloo, and for me, it’s been a real drag to see them take over the show in place of more interesting and talented legacy players, many of whom have now departed, as you so correctly pointed out. Having said that, I do admit that after a very slow spring/summer where I mostly had to grit my teeth on a daily basis, I have seen marked improvements, and have actually started enjoying much of GH again….most current episodes are interesting and enjoyable. (Save for those featuring the nauseating Nina farce….that I could definitely do without….) As for the aforementioned vets presently on the canvas, I had little regard for them back when they were the new kids in town….hence, since I had no affection for them in their heyday, why would I care to see them now???? I’m simply being honest in my appraisal of them….just saying. As for being attached–or not—to various present performers, yes, I have a few…I’m definitely invested in Liesl, Anna, Magda, et al, and I am loving Billy Miller as nuJason and his foreshadowed triangle with Liz and Sam. But that’s basically it…..the majority of my all-time favorite GHers have come and gone, the most recent being Britta, to whom this thread is dedicated….now that’s one chick I’m truly gonna miss!!!!

You and I, Shay, can go round and round in our agree to disagree merry-go-round. I was aware what you meant by “us” and “we”. I was pointing out that not all the “us’s” and “we’s” agreed on the same people…no, they didn’t…and in essence that wasn’t even my point. My point was that the canvas wasn’t even that big because for every newbie we were losing characters a lot of us loved.

To my point…I don’t think there’s a “we” when it comes to Scott, Lucy or Mac. Many who have watched GH for years love those characters…loved them then and love them now. And, WOULD like to see more of them. So when you say they were mentioned…perhaps by a few…but not a lot.

Lil Spencer? Emma? (I didn’t even know you didn’t like Emma.) I’d say you were in the minority there. Rosalie? For me (again, subjectivity) she has the potential to be a very interesting, likeable character. She’s not on enough now so I wouldn’t miss her if she were gone. And, honestly? If Sabrina left I wouldn’t feel the “loss” as I do with Britt. When you and I wrangled about her it’s not that I was ever so in love with this character. I just didn’t see and will never see what you and other accused her of…worming her way into Patrick’s life, taking adavantage of a man grieving, using his daughter to get close to him, using her tears for sympathy, on and on and on. It’s amazing to me how people can watch the same show and come away understanding motives, personal character, the essence of the fictional person created. Love her or hate her, Sabrina was never portrayed with any evil or malicious intent…UNTIL her breakdown. So I defended “her” on a moral ground

“Insipid newbies?” There weren’t THAT many…and you listed Britt, Dr. O., Madeline, Brad and Nathan. As I recall you didn’t like Brad (couldn’t stand him) or Nathan. I liked them both from the beginning. You need to give people a chance (lol…we all do, in real life too) and see where they take you. From that list of newbiew…in reality…who don’t you like? Sabrina, Felix Rosalie, Nina. Sabrina and Felix to many were loved; I’d STILL like to see Felix back. He had heart and was one of the few with a moral compass. Rather than go into an entire cast evaluation here’s my point:

GH of old is gone. It just is. Of course I loved it “back in the day.” Of course I was nostalgic for the “good ol days.” But I can look back on many things, real and fiction, and feel that way. But everything changes. Including soaps. We’re not going to have our core families back. AJ, Alan, Lila, Emily the old Jason…they’re all gone. We’re not going to have Frisco and Felicia, the action days of Luke, Scorpio, Sean, Tiffany. The love enanglements of Robert, Anna, Holly, Duke…and little Robin will never again be little Robin (as I remember her.) It’s ALL different. But I’m enjoying it for what it is now. And I’d love to see more airtime given to many of the old cast. I truly would. I don’t know if it’s a budget thing or a time thing with availabiltiy..or if they’re trying to broaden the demographics by bringing in a younger audience with younger actors. There is one poster here who doesn’t like Luke or Helena. That poster doesn’t have the history behindher to understand the richness of these characters. The this poster, they’re “old” and difficult to look at. If that’s the reaction of one, perhaps that’s the thinking behind bringing in so many “newbies” with a fresh slate. For me…I like the mix at the same time hoping that many others of days gone by will reappear…as did Ned, Rick, Lucy and Scott. Love all four and they are in no way, for ME, second rate or lesser than the others I miss. Just would love to have the others back, as many as possible, in addition.

Let’s close with agreement. You and I are “truly gonna miss” Britt. Now let’s hug it out and get back to our regularly scheduled programming… 😉

filling in missing word…understand motives, etc…DIFFERENTLY

Shay…I love the Shay on “Revenge”…the Shay on GH is, I don’t know, just different. Make sense? (Get it? I sooooo hope you get it.) 😉

Maybe Carlos will stay and be Dukes mob rival…i still feel he will go after Ava first…still think he and Sabrina will leave town together but maybe he ends up staying and Sabrina leaves by herself…

rebecca1….I get what you are saying about the differences (in attitude and content) between my posts on various threads….GH vs. Revenge/Downton/etc. but as far as I’m concerned, that’s totally down to the subject matter in question….while I have been critical on certain aspects of primetime offerings (i.e., characters like Revenge’s Margaux, Downton’s Edith, etc…… or particular storylines, cast developments, etc…..) there is simply no comparison when you consider the nature of the beasts. Afternoon serials are mostly viewed on a daily basis and over the course of many, many years…hence, there is naturally far more to pick apart and lambast, particularly with a show as controversial as GH. So yes, I do tend to have a greater number of negative comments here than in regard to those shows that cater to my taste for more sophisticated fare….I don’t find that to be a necessarily unusual or bad thing. It just is….as for your pointing out that I was no fan of Brad when he first debuted in Port Charles, you are correct…his predatory behavior was gross and disgusting, not unlike Fluke’s…why would I enjoy his character when he was doing that which I considered to be appalling. When Parry Shen was finally allowed to let Brad flourish to show his real depth and humanity, then I did find him to be appealing, but it took quite awhile for that to happen, and in my opinion, it’s a true shame that he was not introduced as this much more well-rounded guy….

Don’t get your feathers in a fluff Miss Shay…I was just ruffling them! Hahahaha…I’m sorry Again, even as I type this I think it’s hilarious how incensed we all get over a freaking TV show! Myself included. But you kinda missed my reference…I was referring to what you and I were discussing about Sean Kanan being AJ vs Deacon…and how we see Sean as AJ…refer to our other discussion over at “Revenge.”

As for Brad (yep, here we go again..) I don’t think many liked him at the very beginning. At the same time I enjoyed him…he was sassy, snarky and fun. When he started crushing on Felix, his vulnerability and desire to change for him was sweet…when he was victim to Britt’s control he was a sympathetic character, when he schemed with her he was fun! I remember you also compared Felix and Brad to Nolan and Patrick…I liked both couples for various reasons. You, how shall I say this delicately, HATED THEM! lol… Brad’s behavior gross and disgusting? C’mon. On a soap where people kill, cheat, steal, lie, and screw like bunnies…BRAD’s behavior was more so? He was no different than Patrick (GH not Revenge) when he first arrived in town; hitting on every woman he saw. There’s no comparison to Fluke…who is a criminal, lewd, dangerous, hitting on women half his age or Kiki who could be his granddaughter.

And, in rereading your reply to me…I have to laugh again. Not AT you…just the situation. I had hoped you’d get my Revenge reference…I was teasing you. I think we should all drink a glass of wine before reading/posting…

Hey rebecca1!!!!….When I received this latest reply, I was flummoxed…here’s why! As I was composing my last response, my computer timed out and the comments disappeared….I figured I had lost them for good, was too tired to go back to square one, and decided to wait until the next day to rehash, since I had only just begun and didn’t even have a chance to edit or refine my thoughts….thank God they made some bit of sense!!!! Essentially, I was merely musing at a very late hour….no wine was involved, however….as I have never been one to imbibe in adult beverages, I simply chose long ago not to go there….ever. I’m just one of those health freak, girl scout types….organic, clean eating all the way, and my potion of choice is mainly green tea!!!! (Thank you, Dr. Perricone….his books were such a revelation!) But that’s neither here nor there. So yeah, even though you were only jesting, I honestly admit I do generally have a more easygoing disposition when I am waxing on primetime programming….perhaps because I feel a greater affinity to the material in question???? At any rate, to complete my “postus interruptus,” as well as reference your observations, I did compare Felix and Brad to Patrick and Nolan and none too favorably. The Revengers totally interested me from the start….I instantly loved Nolan, and Patrick also definitely piqued my interest from not just a physical attraction perspective, but his character was so complex and tortured as Victoria’s son. They made not only a gorgeous, but a very psychologically compelling, couple….I was invested in their ongoing saga, and very sad to see Mr. Osbourne sent away. Felix and Brad? No on both accounts!!!! (Although Parry Shen eventually became cuter and more appealing as his personality developed in a far lighter-hearted direction as he entered both Britt and Lucas’s orbits. On the other hand, Felix has perpetually turned me off on all accounts…ain’t nothing gonna change that, girlfriend!) Anyway, back to Revenge: Even though I watched the show from the beginning, all the so-called male eye-candy (Daniel, Aiden, Jack, etc….) did not appeal to me….dark-haired guys usually just don’t “send” me….what can I say???? So to have a beautiful blond boy in the form of Justin Hartley hit the Hamptons was a most welcome development for me, to say the least. By the way, that also explains the reason why Nathan really didn’t surge my pulse-rate like it seems to for so many of you ladies (and a fair number of gents, too.) While I can intellectually confirm he is of fine face and body, he simply does not personally rank as “drool-worthy” for me! I also wasn’t fond of his character when all he was portrayed as was a stiff, humorless cop—then later Nina’s bro— out to get Silas….(who is one of the rare exceptions to my non dark-haired guy rule…LOL.) But I digress….I didn’t dislike RP, I simply wasn’t bowled over by his physical charms, and his initial lack of acting prowess…however, I did later defend his vast improvement in the latter area, AND when he became Dr. O’s long-lost offspring and Britt’s baby bro, then he began to work for me. Just wanted to clarify. As for our mutually beloved AJ (and SK…) it never fails to amuse me that he is pretty much the lone topic upon which we always are in agreement. He is and forever shall be our loved and lost Quartermaine……no matter where else Sean’s acting skills take him! (Just wondering, did you ever see him in Karate Kid3?) Whew!!!….I think I’m finally done!!!!

Hi Shay…I starting reading your reply on the 12th…just finished it now. lololololol!

Ahem. The wine suggestion was just a tongue-in-cheek suggestion. Have a cup of green tea then…by the way, I’m a vegetarian/organic down to my organic green tea. By the way, did you know you get more antioxidants if you have the leaf tea…the powdered mess in tea bags in just “dust” and doesn’t really do it. Unfortunately, a little more difficult to get the leaves in terms of availability in stores so I drink both. As for red wine, has flavonoids, resveratrol, (though you’d need to drink massive quantities to derive that) and in moderation is actually good for you…depending on of course which study you read since science always contradicts each new study! And don’t forget your dark chocolate..at least 70% cocoa!

Hair color? Hmmmm…I guess I have a type but gorgeous is gorgeous and hair color can always be changed (but doesn’t have to be.) It’s the least important in my book…superficially speaking..and my personal history in relationships has run the gamut.

Oh. And Dr. Perricone? Ever notice his neck? If his products were that great he should look maximum 40! 😉

Good one, rebecca1!!!! I’m just glad you FINALLY made it through my post! LOL. As I write this, I am already on my third green tea of the day….and reading your product “info” was like talking to myself….I’m into all the health and beauty factoids, too!!! As for the green tea, my favorite is matcha….much more antioxidant bang for your cup! But I also do tea bags, too….Harney and Sons makes a great Japanese Sencha and it’s more loose leaf than powdered….I like all the unique niche brands, like Numi and some Republic of Tea, as long as there are no yucky “natural flavor” ingredients involved. As for the choccy, yep, 70% all the way, and no soy added while you’re at it….I actually have a favorite treat called “CocoaMojo.” It’s just raw cocoa powder, coconut palm sugar and multiple mushroom extracts….you can add it to hot water or any liquid of your choice and it is awesome! Right now it’s my regular nightcap. I order it online at NaturalNewsStore…..don’t know if it’s available elsewhere, but it’s phenomenal!!!! In terms of Perricone, I was referring to his anti-aging nutritional advice, although I have used some of the products, and they are very effective….problem is, I’m allergic to eggs, seafood, and some dairy, and they are featured in many of his formulations….Due to my food sensitivities—and personal preferences—-I am not vegan or vegetarian….nope, I’m a red meat kind of girl…gotta have my steaks, albeit grass-fed, organic, etc….ditto for my free-range chicken and turkey. But I’m very conscientious about my diet in terms of eating clean!!!! Lastly, the red wine (and French Paradox) studies have always piqued my interest in terms of their touted benefits and anti-aging aspects, but last week I just read that a single glass has the same amount of alcohol as three shots of vodka, and that rather floored me! So while the resveratrol may be good for one, the alcohol content is questionable….oh well. We all have our favorite poisons! And speaking of, mine have always been green-eyed blond guys…..I’m extremely consistent, what else can I say????? Sooo…now that I have covered all the bases, I hope it would not be out of order to wish you a “Happy Hanukkah?” (And a wonderful holiday season, in general….) And of course, here’s to a “Healthy New Year!!!!” ; )

Thanks, Shay! Did you know Sean Kanan celebrates Hanukkah as well? (or at least he was raised Jewish). Which is another bone to pick…I’d like to see more Jewish characters represented in these shows. So many of the actors are…or at least part Jewish…and yet there’s nary a Jewish character or mention of Hanukkah. But I digress…

I’ll “see you” before Christmas so I’ll save my greeting to you til then!

😉

You are most welcome, rebecca1!!!! Yes, I was aware of SK’s religious background…he has actually spoken quite eloquently on Israel!!! And I agree with you the under-representation of Jewish characters on soaps is ridiculous….probably because leaders of the faith are too dignified to complain about it, unlike certain other segments of the population!!! It especially beggars belief that a hospital like GH in New York state of all places, would not have at least one Jewish doctor….give me a break! Actually, the only soap of which I am aware that ever really did a good job of realistically presenting a geographic region and its true denizens was “Ryans’ Hope.” It had an excellent cross-section of Irish, Italian, Jewish and WASP characters…..just ask Delia!!! LOL.

You know she was a great actress cuz she got
You to really hate the britch….love how she turned good in the end but just had bad luck. I will miss her!

I’m not sorry to see Kelly leave. I thought her acting was wooden and her lines recited very mechanically without emotion or feeling. She has a lot to learn as an actress. The character was interesting but I don’t think that Kelly was the right actress for the part. I’m glad that she is gone.

I don’t think we were watching the same actress playing the Britt character. I saw someone else altogether…I saw a compelling Kelly; whether she played the spiteful vixen or the loving friend/lover/doctor etc.
I certainly would not call her parting scene, at the pier, wooden.

Kelly grew a lot as an actress during her time on the show. She took a pretty much one dimensional role that we’ve seen before, the nut case obsessed with Patrick, and made it her own. Always loved Britt’s interactions with Spencer and especially with the fabulous Kathleen Gati as Britt’s “mutter.”

I have no doubt with someone that has the looks and talent that Kelly does, she’ll be a success at whatever she does!

I always loved Britch and Kelly. She is a wonderful, talented actress. Watching her scenes today was heartbreaking. However..I wish her last scenes were NOT with Spencer. Sorry..but that child grates on my last nerve. Actually I was hoping she would have takem him with her..a great storyline..where he disappears and returns with another actor playing his part and he aged like 5 years. Anyway…Best of luck in anything you do Kelly…I’m sure we won’t be seeing the last of you!

Oh thank you, Lynn!!!! I am gratified that there’s another viewer who finds that perturbing, pint-sized pip to be as insufferable as I do!!!! When Spencer was first introduced to us, he was such an awesomely attired and well-mannered junior gent that I was initially charmed…..then suddenly he became a mouthy mini-mister with a bratty bravado that completely turned me, particularly when he was paired with the enormously annoying Emma. While I did find his relationship with Britt to be sweet and convincing, all his scheming and machinations were simply much too much for a child of his age. Loved your suggestion that he be shipped off on the SS SORAS!!!!

Now ladies, he is just a child and it is a character BUT there are children in real life who come from money and are raised to be above certain classes of people. I give the youngster credit. I admit it is tough at times to understand his lines but he is as smart as a whip and I enjoy pieces of him. This is an adult soap but I give GH credit for not ignoring the kids of main characters. On Y&R they will have a character playing with his binky one week and the next week he wrecks his dad’s new Mercedes!

That’s so funny, Lynn. I couldn’t love Spencer more. I think this little actor is beyond adorable and has the right amount of “attitude”, pomposity, self-entitlement…in combination with a sincerity, innocence, intelligence, humor…all packaged in one way cute boy who embodies the perfect mini Cassadine. LOL…loved his scenes with Britt and think the father/son chemistry between him and Tyler is perfection.

I agree. I thought him and Britt were the perfect way for her to end her exit. A lot of times kids dont get to play out scenes where they are most affected. I’m relieved it wasnt with Nick. He and Britt would have fought and she would have walked out and that would have been the end of her. Her and Spencer’s goodbye sets her up for a welcomed return in the future. Remember, Spencer never knew his mother so Britt was special to him.

I’m with Timmm on this one.

Isn’t it refreshing to SEE and HEAR the kids on the show? It is a nice break from everybody hopping into bed after knowing one another for a second. I do like that the kids are given a chance to grow with their characters instead of being SORASED all the time.

Amen, Timmm…..PV.

Too many good people leave daytime and are never heard from again. She is talented though but still.

I will miss Kelly. I loved her as Britt. I thought she gave Nicholas some sparkle. Loved her scenes with Spencer.

Good Luck Kelly! Wishing you all the best!

I cried so much saw ur eyes teared up my throat got lumpy n ohhhh my god little spencer face expression priceless saw his eyes n yup holding back was speechless gd luck in ur next chapter n I will definitely b looking out for u

I think it is a mistake letting her go she is a wonderful actress. I think she would have been great with Nicholas and Spencer. I love the relationship the little guy had with her, so close and touching. Wish she was not leaving and you could get her back. Like having real life relationships on here with the ups and downs. All the coming back to life stuff is a bit overboard.

I loved her! I thought the writers did a great job of crafting a character we loved to hate and then ended up rooting for to find happiness. Kelly humanized the Britch and won me over. I wish her well and hope she books her dream jobs. Selfishly, I can’t wait to see her on GH again.

Maybe she will return with Faison..
I loved loved loved Britt leaving with her father Faison !!
That was awesome and very unexpected!
and I was shocked when Dr O stayed for her son and did not leave with Faison, her love.
The acting by all on the dock was outstanding!!!

Britt and Faison will return, imo ..

What great farewell scenes especially between Brit and Spencer. I felt the love. And what a great character and real life person Kelly is. Best of luck in your new venture!

Going to miss her terribly. The chemistry between she and the actors portraying Dr. O and Spencer was just wonderful. She’s had some really great scenes with them that I’ll always remember. I wish nothing but the best for her, and hope she will come back at some point.

Awesome farewell scenes indeed 🙁 Goodluck Kelly 🙂

Acting is a tough career. I give Kelly credit for walking away from a paycheck and following her heart. I would not recast the role. I would give the actress some time to try other roles. If she becomes a movie star then you recast if her role is still relevant to the show. Did anyone besides me think she could be a twin to Megan Fox?

oh..yes I hadn’t though of the resemblance but I can see it. And I agree with you about not recasting. For now, we all assume she’s bonding with daddy…lol…far, far away. If/when the character comes back, I guess we’ll see if Kelly is available. Selfishly, I hope she will be. (I’m so wary of the longevity of soaps these days that I wonder if GH will be available if she wants to come back!) 😉

I dont see soaps today on their last leg. I think the four of them are good and respected. I hope they all last. If you wonder about longevity, look no further than prime time. You get a week or two and if a show doesnt come out of the gate strong, CANCELLED! Look at John Stamos, he had a show that didnt even air and they pulled it from airing. So Kelly could very well be back and it could very well not be because she failed. Its a tough go in Hollywood.

ahhhhhhhhhh…don’t agree with part of your statement. I DO agree about prime time. There are a few shows I really started getting into and pouf! they’re gone! I find myself checking the ratings/key demographics to see if they have a fighting chance. I almost feel like there’s no point in watching and getting invested in characters/story because the shows just disappear after one season. Very disappointing.

As for soaps, I don’t believe they’r out of hot water. To my understanding…you or anyone can correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I’ve read they’re still very expensive to produce and the networks are getting more bang for their buck with talk shows, cooking shows, game shows, etc. Yes, I know Katie and other failed…but I doubt they’ll go back to soaps but rather find new (or old) ways of trying to garner an audience and save the budget. I don’t think soap actors feel secure anymore either. I think we’re seeing a lot more leaving and trying out for prime or film because the old days of career longevity in the soaps is gone. They’re breaking out of the genre and preparing for a future without them to fall back on. I doubt the young actors who play Emma and Spencer will be playing their roles 20 years from now (not that they would want to but used as a comparison with KimberlyRobin or Kristen/Starr/Kiki.

I’m sad about it. I really enjoyed OLTL and loved knowing it was out there in fantasyland whenever I felt the desire to escape into a familiar, fictional world. Same with GH. So I fear the worst and am hoping for the best…

Yes, soaps cost a lot more to produce than a cooking show, for example. I’m willing to bet that all the cooks on the “Chew” wouldnt even make what Maurice Bernard makes combined! Soaps cut corners to keep costs down. In the eighties GH was famous for going on location during sweeps. It was so cool and it gave the actors and the viewers some refreshing moments to enjoy. I still dont understand why GH and other shows dont put their advertisers products in the show more often. Have a Coke at Kellys or have T.J. washing dishes in the back with Dawn dish washing liquid?

LOL…Timmm. I don’t remember if it was you or Harry who once said they should have Britt and other hospital staff standing around the candy/vendor machine at the hospital. And then…they DID! Do you remember that? Actually, Parry just showed one scene where he and Britt were talking while eating candy bars…

Was it Harry? Yeah, its weird, soap stories are strange to begin with but you want some realistic stuff from our everyday lives in the show. One thing I’ve seen a couple times on GH and it was cool. Do you remember they had characters texting each other and they flashed the word bubbles on the screen. I thought that was cool and different.

yep; they’ve done that a few times now. OLTL (Prospect Park’s version) did that too. I think they also did it with facebook or some facsimile of…

We all hated the Britch, but loved her when she showed her human side. My favorite on the show and I hate to see her go. My best wishes for her.

soo sorry to here that you are leaving general hospital hope you’ll come back again and i wish you the best your a great actresss

I think we should keep Britt and get rid of Elizabeth. 😉

I agree. That performance was definitely emmy worthy. Great acting on everybody’s part.

The britch @kellythibaud you will definitely be missed, have to admit at 1st I didn’t care for u but you have definitely grown on me yes u will be missed!

Let’s face it: Kelly is talented and beautiful! If producers are smart, they will hire her!

I am so grateful to GH for the character of Britt and more so to Kelly for making Britt not only human but likable.

There is so much about GH I don’t like, but Britt has been an incredibly bright spot!

Her goodbye scenes on the docks were beyond moving. Britt was originally a villainess. So in these moving scenes, we had one former villainess, two current villainesses, and one villain. And Spencer! And these characters brought me to tears, particularly Britt’s interaction with her mother and Spencer.

But the cherry on the top was Helena. At scene’s end, Helena physically comforted Liesl as Liesl was emotionally torn apart by her departing daughter and love interest. It was unexpected and moving, and it allowed even Helena to appear more human.

One of GH’s finest hours…

I too was rather startled by the last bit of the scene, with Ice Queen Helena actually trying to comfort Liesl. But then—Helena does understand maternal love, even if her way of expressing it is incredibly destructive and incredibly dysfunctional. One of her running justifications for the horrendous things she does is family/love for her sons, her grandson, etc. So perhaps it shouldn’t have been so surprising. But it sure was!

I really like Britt with Nicholas. He needs someone with a spark. He should forgive her. They were building a relationship after the “kidnapping”, Spencer loves her, and deep down so does Nicholas. If she comes back, and “Nick” is not with anyone else, this could be revisited.

I very rarely, if ever cry over a soap opera. Not since the death of Delia on the Young and the Restless. But when Britt was telling Spencer to be strong and go back to the father that loves him more than anything, that did for me. The child playing Spencer is terrific. I think he deserves some kind of award at the next Daytime Emmy awards for his talent. I think it was a powerful scence on everybody’s part. To see that these supposed “crazies” have such genuine feelings for each other really bought the secene home. Looking forward to future shows, and the way the “Fluke” story will be played out. It is nice to see Anthony Geary back in his element. It just goes to show that you can’t keep a good man down.

PLEASE BRING BRITT BACK I LOVE HER AND SPENCER TOGETHER

I really always wanted the Britch to get nicer! She was much too beautiful for the roll she was written. I mean, come on…this girl was stunningly beautiful!

General Hospital

Adam Huss Makes Another Return to General Hospital as Nikolas Cassadine

Nikolas Cassadine will be back on your screens next week but now via Pentonville. That means, that actor Adam Huss is back for a visit for all-new episodes of General Hospital.

In story, Ava (Maura West) comes to visit her ex in the slammer. So, just what does Ava want now? She clearly has been working an agenda on Sonny (Maurice Benard). Is she working with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart)? What will she tell Nikiolas? stay tuned.

Meanwhile, once news of Huss’ return broke earlier on Friday via Soap Opera Digest, he also announced his return on his Instagram expressing, “For all those who’ve been asking, cat’s out of the bag;) Thank you to all my #Nikolas #GH fans for your unwavering support. I don’t take it for granted for a second! (Even when I can’t answer 😊) #generalhospital”

Photo: ABC

Huss took over the role of Nikolas back in January of 2023, after Marcus Coloma left the soap opera. Previous to that, Huss filed in for Coloma in September of 2021 and November of 2022. Fast-forward to January of 2024, Nikolas gave Ace to Laura and Kevin to raise, while he eventually turned himself into the police for kidnapping Esme and keeping her hostage while she was pregnant and Wyndemere.

The return of Huss comes on the heels of multiple reports that his on-screen son, Nicholas Chavez is not returning to the show as Spencer Cassadine, while in story Spencer is believed to have drowned int the Seine River after falling off a boat in France, when drugged by Esme.

So, looking forward to seeing Adam Huss back as Nikolas? Do you think GH will eventually have him more full-time? Comment below.

General Hospital

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sonny and Jason Trade Threats on Each Other

The love affair that once was mobster Sonny (Maurice Benard) and hit man Jason (Steve Burton), and having each others back, is now apparently over! On the Thursday April 25th episode of General Hospital, an increasingly paranoid Sonny is confronted by Jason.

Jason wants to talk to Sonny about a “family matter”, but Sonny says they aren’t family now because he’s working with the Feds. Sonny goes on to say how he cannot trust Carly (Laura Wright) or Jason and he knows about Jason buying back the Metro Court for Carly from Nina (Cynthia Watros).

When the conversation turns to Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Dex (Evan Hofer), Jason informs Sonny that Kristina (Kate Mansi) knows Sonny ordered a hit. Jason is worried about Dex’s safety. He tells Sonny that if he does something to Dex, Kristina will figure out that he is responsible.

Courtesy/ABC

Sonny goes on to say how much he loves his kids and how he will protect them. He then tears into Jason for abandoning his sons, Danny and Jake, for two years and how he has no right to stand there to tell him what to do.

Jason warns Sonny again to leave Dex alone or he’ll personally stop him. Sonny snaps at Jason, countering, “You’ll die trying!” And at that point, Jason walks out and Sonny slams the door behind him.

What do you think about this split in the longstanding relationship of Jason and Sonny? Do you like Jason and Sonny at odds? Will Kristina be the person to ultimately figure out what is happening to Sonny, or it might it be Nina, who knows Ava (Maura West) is up to no good? Share your thoughts in the comment section, but first watch this clip from part of the Sonny/Jason scenes below.

Breaking News

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital

For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.

According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).

Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

Photo: ABC

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared,  “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”

In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

Photo: ABC

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

Photo: ABC

The Michael Fairman Channel spoke with Nicholas Chavez for a virtual interview when he first joined the show in 2021, and spoke to him right after when he won the Daytime Emmy in 2022 – you can see those below.

No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.

So, what do you think about the news of Nicholas Chavez not returning to his role as Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital? Comment below.
